MLM skin care companies - more hype than help!
Following in the footsteps of Rodan+Fields, Nerium and other MLM skin care companies, LeVel is now pushing their own overpriced miracle creams in the form of a skin care subscription. At a cost of $150 per month for (3) 1 oz. products, the Thrive CBD skin care line will run you a whopping $1800 per year - more than most people spend annually on products, Botox and facials combined. Overlooking the fact that other MLMs are fighting class action lawsuits for side effects caused by insufficient product testing and predatory marketing, let's focus alone on the misinformation being used by LeVel to hawk their new CBD line as an anti-aging wonder.
While CBD has been touted as a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial ingredient there are no studies that show it to be more effective than any other anti-oxidant (such as vitamin C) to counter act free radicals which contribute to aging. In other words, the ingredients contained in the Thrive skin care line are not substantially any different or more effective than any other skin care line containing antioxidants and botanicals.
Additionally, the use of CBD in your skin care should be an enhancement not a replacement to retinol, niacinamide and AHA/BHA (ingredients missing from the Thrive skin care line) which are proven to help reverse aging. Incorporating a single CBD serum or moisturizer into your regimen is sufficient, and will be much more effective than ditching your entire current anti-aging regime for a trio of redundant products.
For some, skin care purchases are about throwing a bone to a friend or family member who isn't working and relies on the income from MLM, but for those of us looking for truly effective anti-aging results MLM products are not the biggest bang for your buck. A budget of $1800 annually spread between select products + clinical skin treatments will produce far greater results.
